BEIJING, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) -- Incumbent and former leaders of foreign countries and international organizations have sent a multitude of congratulatory messages to Chinese President Xi Jinping to convey their best wishes on the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC).

The following is an edited summary of some of these messages.

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte said that the Filipino people join the Chinese people in celebrating China's tremendous achievements in national development, adding that the Chinese leaders, pioneers and people who strived for the great progress deserve enormous credits.

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said that China has become the most prestigious and influential country in the world in just 70 years, and has made special and important contributions to safeguarding world security and stability and promoting international cooperation.

The president said he believes that under Xi's wise and effective leadership, the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era will surely make greater progress, and the Chinese people will certainly achieve the two centenary goals and realize the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation.

Sooronbay Jeenbekov, president of Kyrgyzstan, said that since the founding of the PRC, the country has been developing with each passing day and has become a leading economy in the world.

The Kyrgyz people feel sincerely happy for the achievements made by the friendly Chinese people, and wish Xi new achievements in leading the Chinese people on the road of happiness, peace and prosperity, he added.

Tajik President Emomali Rahmon said that over the past 70 years, China has made remarkable achievements in such fields as politics, society, economy, as well as science and technology, winning a lofty international prestige.

All these great achievements, added Rahmon, result from wise political leadership and the hard work of all Chinese people.

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said in his congratulatory message that the Chinese people have made splendid achievements in promoting national development and social construction.

He noted that Xi's wise leadership, strategic vision and well thought-out plan for reform have led China into a new era.

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that China is firmly moving forward along the path of comprehensive progress and prosperity, and has made splendid achievements in economic and social development, improving people's livelihood and lifting the country's international prestige.

He said he wishes the great and industrious Chinese people peace, success and prosperity.

Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi said that Egypt and China, the two ancient civilizations, have made important contributions to the ideological and cultural development of humanity. He said he wishes China a more peaceful, secure and splendid future.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan also hailed the achievements China has scored in the past 70 years, saying that under the leadership of Xi, China is committed to promoting peace and stability at both regional and global levels, and plays an increasingly important role.

Erdogan said he is confident that cooperation in various fields between the two countries will be further deepened in the future with their joint efforts.
